Privacy & Safety Policy
We respect your privacy and we are obligated to protect it. Because of it we adapt this document of Privacy and Safety Policy. This document lets to get to know how this process works and how your personal information is used. The following rules only apply to websites which are properties of the Republic of Panama´s government or which are operated by it.
What information is being collected and how it is being collected?
Every computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name and a set of numbers that are the IP address ("Internet Protocol"). When a visitor visits one of the websites of the government, our servers automatically recognize the domain and the IP address of the visitor. The name of the domain and the IP address do not reveal more personal information than the visitor’s location. We use this information to examine intensity of this connection, but we do not collect and evaluate them. Our Web servers do not record e-mail of our visitors.
What Cookies are?
From time to time, the government´s websites can sand “cookie” to computer of the user. The “cookie” is a group of dates sending from the browser by a Web application which is stored on hard disk of the computer. The “cookie” and any other “cookie” created by other website cannot read dates from hard disk of the computer. The “cookie” cannot damage your operation system. You can choose to accept "cookies" or reject changing your browser settings. You can set your browser to block access to your computer for the "cookies" completely or to indicate you when "cookies” are sending. If you choose not to accept "cookies", your experience on our websites may be limited and some functions may not work as intended.
What different kind of information is asked for?
We can ask for email address or postal address to conduct surveys or provide additional services (for example subscriptions to electronic news, announcements or information about activities). Whenever we ask for the identity of a visitor, we will clearly indicate the purpose of the inquiry before requesting the information. We follow a strict policy of "No SPAM" what means we do not pretend to sell, rent or provide information about email address to third party without the permission of the visitor.
Do we share information that we got with third parties?
CIDCOPPA makes available your personal information when it is requested by judicial authority or in good faith when we are considered this is necessary to:
The Government of Panama takes precautions to keep the information received from citizens safe. Additionally, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for any actions done by third parties related to the receipt of the information.
What else should I know about my privacy?
The websites can contain links to other websites. Neither CIDCOPPA nor the Government of Panama are responsible for the privacy or content of these websites. Neither CIDCOPPA nor the Government of Panama share individual personal information you have provided to the sites that have their links, despite these institutions may share statistical data to these websites (such as how many people use the website). Please check on those websites what determine your privacy policies. In addition, you should know that at any time you will voluntarily reveal online (eg via e-mail, discussion lists, forums, etc.) some information, they may be collected and used by others.
